While some companies now consider it a matter of course to provide managers leaving their services with an outplacement advisor, little is done for new executives. Yet those first few weeks in a new job can have a decisive influence on a manager’s success.
If this time is deliberately prepared for and organised, expensive learning processes can be avoided. The new manager finds it easier to settle in and the company can expect a better return on its investment.
As part of our induction programme we support executives with our expertise and experience from numerous management training courses. We analyse the managers’ strengths and leadership skills and probe their background and current situation in a team. Along with the managers, we then develop a strategy and a plan for the first period in their new job. As coaches, we also add an independent point of view and provide management tools and dos and don’ts for the outset.
